Serial Entrepreneur Andrew Frame Creates Leading Safety App

Andrew Frame is an entrepreneur who has founded multiple companies. His latest one is Citizen, which has an app that uses 911 information to keep people safe. He was once named by Businessweek as one of the country’s top young entrepreneurs.

He was born in Las Vegas and launched his first technology company when he was just 15 years old. When he was 17, Andrew Frame joined Cisco Systems as a support engineer. He joined Procket Networks in 2001` as a system test engineer. In 2004, he founded Ooma. This was Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) business. It was in 2016 that he launched Citizen.

Citizen was originally based in New York City, but he moved its headquarters to Los Angeles during the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of its employees work remotely, with their schedules following EST. Andrew Frame begins his workdays at 7:00 am, as he’s most productive in the morning. Andrew Frame spends much of his days in meetings with his team, such as product managers.

The team at Citizen is mission oriented. His philosophy is to hire people who are smarter than him. He prioritizes his ideas so he can focus on the most promising ones. The ideas that are worked on are ones that help people protect one another. Any idea that doesn’t fit with this vision is discarded.

He believes that his passions and hobbies outside of work help him be more productive when he is working. He gets a lot of inspiration from reading books about technology and how to run a business. Other interests he has include movies, poetry and literature. Andrew Frame encourages all the employees of Citizen App to have a variety of hobbies outside of work.
